Setting the tone for a destination wedding

Custom wedding stationery | Illustration | Paper design

The concept

There’s something really special about creating wedding stationery that feels like the couple from the very beginning.

This stationery suite was created as a concept for Alexis and Tiffany, a couple planning their wedding in the UK. The design needed to give guests a small glimpse of the destination while still feeling soft, romantic and personal.

My approach

I leaned into a gentle travel feel using hand-drawn details and a burgundy and blue-grey colour palette.

The invitation was printed on matte white cardstock and layered over a rich burgundy backing card. A custom arch-shaped window added another point of interest and framed the illustrated details without making the design feel too busy.

The menu, booklet and place card carried the same colours, paper and hand-drawn style through the rest of the suite, helping everything feel connected.

The result feels a little nostalgic, a little romantic and connected to the place where the celebration will happen.

The details

  • A6 wedding invitation

  • Coordinating menu

  • Ceremony booklet

  • Personalised place card

  • 250gsm burgundy cardstock

  • 200gsm matte white cardstock

  • Custom arch window

  • Hand-drawn decorative details

  • Burgundy and blue-grey colour palette

  • Layered paper construction

The result

Wedding stationery is about more than putting the date on paper. It sets the tone and gives your guests their first glimpse of what the day might feel like.

This concept shows how paper, colour, shape and illustration can work together to create something that feels personal before guests have even booked their flights.

Client feedback

“Emma took time to understand us and all the little details of our wedding. The colours, hand-drawn details and paper choices gave our guests such a beautiful first glimpse of what we’re planning in London. Seeing everything come together across the invitation, menu, booklet and place cards made it all feel real.” - Alexis and Tiffany
